Gave loan to a friend not returning principal amount what can I do

09-Feb-2023 (In Recovery Law)

I have given 16 lacks to my friend in 2012 by cash in 3-4 stages & there is no written papers. He has to return my money after 1 year & promised to give handsome interest after getting returns from share market. As on date he gave me 9 lacks by depositing money on my bank account partially in 2014 &15. Balance 6 lacks from principle amount not given yet & his intension is not to pay that balance 6 lacks. Can I file a police case against him for cheating? OR I have to file case in court? Which one is best option to recover my money immediately.

If you have any proof of transfer of money that you made or your friend made then you can keep those papers as evidence and file for a recovery suit in the court once you have sent him a legal notice and a reasonable amount of time to pay the pending amount.
