Friend took money for multi level marketing how can I get my money

My friend on the name on multi chain marketing or multi level marketing took 3.5 lacs from me saying that we can make good money. They also took 1.5 lacs for a annual meeting in Malaysia. Now asking they that i want to back out from it they are denying every money to me. What action to take?
