Before any legal proceedings the bank or the institution from which you took the loan amount will serve you a legal notice regarding the repayment of the amount. Then you need to reply to that notice and negotiate/settle with a particular amount with them. And if you are under the fear that they will indulge you in criminal proceedings then it's advisable to apply for an anticipatory bail. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

Police will never call you for recovery of payments ! It’s a civil matter ..these are collection agency people who falsely pretend themselves to b police or legal cell ! You need to record their call n number n report the same to bank n cyber cell via your advocate B in touch

Dear Client, Non Payment of credit card dues is a civil matter which will start by sending you legal notice, And then by recovery case against you. However If you willfully neglected the payment/Legal Demand Notice it will lead to your low cibil score. Criminal Action against you will be taken if you do some fraud in getting the credit card, or any other criminal breach. Hope this was helpful for you.
