20-Apr-2025 (In Recovery Law)
Actually a lawyer hired for my divorce case but after some hearing dates passed then i realised that the lawyer is not performing well as i thought so cleared all fees of previous lawyer in cash then I hired new lawyer and got divorce with all settlement but in 2022 i got a legal notice from my previous lawyer who was asked me for his pending fees around 124000 that was totally wrong and false and he filed a case against me for recovery of money.

Since the case has been filed by the previous lawyer against you for recovery of alleged unpaid fees, you should contest the claim by filing a strong written statement denying the allegations. Emphasize that all dues were paid in full in cash, and that the claim is false and without merit. If possible, include any indirect evidence like call records, messages, or witness statements that support the cash payment and absence of any dues. If the claim is found to be frivolous or malicious, you can also explore filing a counterclaim for misuse of process and damages for harassment.
