Employer not paying for the work ( Freelance work)

Hi , Few months ago, a person hired me to do work for him, as he was somewhat known, i didnt have communication through mail... regarding contract ... he just asked verbally and agreed to pay me monthly ... so now after completion of work ... he isn't paying the amount we agreed on.... So what should i do now.... what are the legal options i have... here are few details : Type of Work : Free Lance Work : Website development and digital marketing Proof of work : we did it verbally, i have just few whatsapp conversation ... please help

You can send him a legal notice through an advocate for payment of the work done and give him sometime to reply to the same. In case he doesn’t reply or pay you in a reasonable amount of time you can approach the civil court
