Client have taken the services but ignoring to pay, please advise

I am a freelancer, worked for a firm. they are not paying now. everytime they give some timeline. can i take any legal step. I dont have dont any agreement but itwas mutually decided that they will pay X amount for designing a document. i have email where i have sent document, invoice and reminders etc.Is it worth to take legal action?
As you have not signed any agreement with the client, your case is not worth it. You have sent the bill on Email but is the opposite company have given some thing to you in writing? The Law of Evidence criteria doesn't match. You can settle this issue with the company politely and recover amount as much as you can.
