Bank has put lien on my account

I took a gold loan from ICICI bank. It wads to be renewed in January. I was unable to renew due to some peraonal urgency, However I was in touch with bank and I assured them that I will renew by this month. I was in constant touch with branch manager and one more employee and cascaded the same information to them. I was aleo speaking to their collection executive on daily basis. Now bank has marked lien on my account without any message or email. I want to send them a legal notice now?
