Since you have already received vigilance clearance and all terminal benefits from the bank at the time of retirement, the bank generally cannot take any action against you for any old incident unless there is proven fraud or misappropriation. Regarding your FDR, the bank can freeze it only if there is a pending legal dispute, court order, or recovery proceedings initiated against you. If there is no such ongoing case or decree, your FDR cannot be frozen. However, since an old incident is mentioned, it is advisable to keep all documents related to the previous inquiry and retirement benefits safe. If the bank initiates any legal action or freezes your FDR, you should immediately approach a labour or banking lawyer to challenge such action.
