₹42000 received in 2023. Police asking for receipt in 2026

I received ₹42000 in 2023 from one of my customers and today(13/3/26). Police visited and asked for account statement and receipt of the payment to be submitted on 18/3/26 to the police station which is about 600kms from my location. I run a jewellery/Banker business. I checked for the receipt but I’m not finding it. How do I go about it from here? Kindly advice.

Under what provision of law you are required to submit account statement to police ? You master submitted to IT department whatever statement of that year already and now you cannot go back and change it. have you consulted your auditor ?
