Wife's share in husband's ancestral property

23-Jan-2023 (In Property Law)
Hi, We are four brothers, who have inherited ancestral property. Our grandfather and father is deceased. The property is being sold and the buyer is insisting that our wives should also sign an NOC, regarding sale of the property. Does a wife have any share in her husband's ancestral property ? Is an NOC required ? Thank You.

No, assuming that your family is a hindu , and that all the husbands are alive, wife does not have any share in the husband's ancestral property, when the husbands are still alive. there is no need for them to give any NOC.
