What to do when property papers are lost

I have lost my property papers.so whats the next process of get back.or alternative of my legal papers

There are two scenarios- 1- If the documents were registered you can obtain a certified copy from the Registrars office of your area. 2- Incase the documents were unregistered GPA, Agreement to Sell etc. you may approach the seller to execute a fresh set of documents. In both the cases you should give a publication in newspapers in order to avoid any misuse of the lost documents.

It is advisable for you to aapproach a lawyer who who is doing revenue law practice. He will arrange for all your lost documents. If in case you have lost the entire file of concerned property that also can be recovered. You don't have to be worried about it. However, you will need to pay some charge for it.
