Dear sir,
My daughter has inherited some property from her Late Mother. Now her Maternal uncle that is her late mothers brother want to get registered the release from her to his name.
1) What is the duty of stamp duty?
2) Who has to bear the stamp duty?

She can release the property to her uncle only both her and uncle name mentioned in the rtc. In the bbmp level Rs. 5000 stamp duty within the family. Releasee can pay the stamp duty. If you need more advice please contact me.

dear sir, maternal uncle is not considered as the family member for the purpose of release deed as per the Karnataka stamp act. hence the stamp duty will be 5.1% on the property value or the guideline value whichever is higher.
