Uncle asking for share in property what to do.

We live in a joint family of my father and his uncle(mamaji) family we have 2 different portions of house but with a single electricity and water supply in both the portions. We spent here for about 25 years and my gandfather for about more than 45-50 yrs. But now suddenly the problem arises as my father's uncle wants our portion to although we have all our govtt. Id on the same address they want us to leave but we could not. Please suggest us.
Uncle has right over his property n he is legally authorised to take back his portion from you.

its good that you have the possession over the property for a fairly long period. This is in your favour but what also needs to be looked into is whether your father's uncle has any title over the property. now your claim to title over the property needs to be consolidated and documents supporting the same should be produced to reject his claim altogether in the primary stage itself
