Transfer of residential property after death

1) What is the best way to transfer property to my wife after my deat 2) If I register my residential property jointly with my wife, will the residential property have to be registered and mutated in her name after my death.

1. Prepare a will. Get it attested by two witnesses. Get it registered before Sub-registrar at your nearest registry office. 2. No need to get the property registered and mutated separately. Naturally, your wife would be the class-I successor of your property.
