Transfer of property from deceased father

20-Sep-2024 (In Property Law)
I had brought a property in 2021 along with my father. Some of the money was paid by my father for the flat. My father passed away recently. I have a brother who is now asking me for the share in the property. Will my brother be able to claim on the property which was brought by me and father? Will the encumbrance certificate now have my brother's name as well?

The sale deed indicates that the owner is the absolute owner of the property, which is classified as his self-acquired asset. I would like to know whether your father is also listed as a co-owner in the sale deed or if it is solely in your name. The encumbrance certificate will reflect the details exactly as stated in the sale deed.
