Transfer of flat in 2014 and now subsequent issues arising

In 2014 i paid transferr fee in cash to the society. As per Mahrashtra cooperative socities act in 2021, the same amount was refunded to me since it was not chargeable in first place as ler society. Now after 6 mo ths they say they cannot trace the original payment of Rs.25000 in 2014 and hence are asking me to repay the amount. After 7 years i am unable to produce the cash receipts. What does the law say in my favour. Can u guide.
Well, you have lost your Cash Receipts, so that's why, they are taking advantage of you. Despite they keep record of payment of Transfer fees, they will not show you or give access to such record. Might they have destroyed such record

You may have lost receipt but you can always obtain your bank statements to show that you have made necessary payments please obtain the same from your bank and write a letter along with a copy of the bank statements
