The owner is the tenant in his own property. Can he do such a thing?

21-Sep-2023 (In Property Law)
We planning to buy a land. The issue there is that the person who is the owner of the land is also the tenant in the same property. Can he do such a thing? As i am buying the property from him, will this cause some trouble to me in the future?

Dear Concerned,
An owner cannot be a tenant in his own property. You may provide the complete details of the case as it seems that you have missed out on some facts. In any case, there is no problem under law if you purchase a property which is occupied by a legal tenant of the owner. However, there are certain pre-cautions which you might need to take before buying any such property including due diligence etc.
