23-Sep-2023 (In Property Law)
I bought a agriculture land leagally6near madurai tamilnadu 1980 registered with deed and transferred to my wife. Now when we recently noticed, our land patta is on someone's name, which we didn't care about the patta in those years. Now how to change the their name to my wife name. Where to contact first to fix this. What are the procedures.? Thanks

You have to contact the Tahsildar's Office for the purpose. Request them to verify the revenue records based on the sale deed in your wife's name. The Patta may be in the joint names of the previous owners. Apply for inclusion of your wife's name in the joint Patta first. Then, apply for an individual Patta in your wife's name.

visit your taluk office with the Xerox copy of your sale deed or settlement deed by which u or your wife got the possession and ownership...they will give the patta name transfer form, there the procedure starts
