Rights on the ancestral property of father which is inherited by him

My father inherited a self acquired residential house from my grandfather in 1945 on his death.At the time of his dearh, the family consisted of my father, mother, my minor brother born in 1942, my minor sister born in 1945 and a minor sister of my father.I , the younger daughter , was born in 1952.I am a hindu by religion.(1) Can the family be called as a joint Hindu family? and(2) can this be called an ancestral property for me, my sister who died in 1996 and my brother who is still alive? It is can be called hindu joint family and it is ancestral property in the context of law. all the members and son have equal rights in the property of father. Equal division is required in the property.

Yes, you are entitled to get his property, but from your queries all aspects are not clear enough. Is any registered WILL from your father's side?
