Do you have property registered in the name of your Grandmother? If its there no one can do anything.

If no document available then get the property title search by Lawyer and check the status of ownership of property.

Take further advice from lawyer once documents are in placed.

Dear Querist, Under what documents your grandmother purchased the flat?? whether it was registered ?? and whether your grandmother's name was entered in the revenue records. If answer to all the questions are Yes, then they cant ask money or dispossess you.
By the way Religion has nothing to do with a civil contract.

If you have a registered document and the property is transferred to your families name they cannot do anything. Also if you family is living their for more than 12 years and in those 12 years if they have not disputed then you can retain the possession adverse to them, however for that you need to accept them as owners. If the property documents and records are transferred to your name then there is no need to worry.
