Related to corpus fund for resale property

My father bought a second hand flat in tambaram where 120 residents live. The first owner didn’t pay corpus fund till the 2.5 years he own the flat. Now association is asking my father to pay the corpus fund who is a second owner. They are threatening him, that they will remove him from the association membership. Please help us on to proceed on this issue. He regularly paying the maintenance charge.

You can send legal notice to the previous owner asking him to pay the corpus fund dues. You can send another notice to the apartment association asking them not to bind you for the arrears of the previous owner. And it is the responsibility of the previous owner to clear all arrears before handing possession to you.
