Regarding eviction of illegal occupant of my property

30-Nov-2023 (In Property Law)
can a permissive occupier claim ownership only on the basis of having resided in a home for 26 years.. and paying property tax in the name of original owner. One of my relatives is trying to take advantage of my dad's house. we have let them stay in our home without any time limit. But now they are claiming ownership of the house. We want to vaccate it.

Permissive occupants are not entitled to claim ownership at any point of time. If you can prove that the occupants are permissive only then you can succeed in the case. Paying property tax in the name of original owner does not entitle them to claim ownership.
