Under the Limitation Act, 1963, if a person is in continuous, open, and hostile possession of government land for more than 30 years, they can claim ownership through Adverse Possession.  • Since your family has occupied the land for nearly 80+ years (well beyond the 30-year requirement), you can argue that the government’s right to evict you has been extinguished by the lapse of time.
