Refund of token money from property dealer how to proceed legally

06-Sep-2023 (In Property Law)
A token money of Rs 10K was given to a property dealer for direct transfer a plot from seller to buyer(us) as seller doesn't have registry of that plot. But after a discussion between seller and property dealer, he tried to compell us to pay for registration of plot to seller . Then we have to pay again to get it registered on our name. So due to lack of faith, we refuse to buy. No legal or any docs was signed. The dealee is refusing to pay token money back...what legal.action can we take.

Depending upon your jurisdiction, you can apply for refund of the earnest money, through the local State RERA regulatory Authority. There are cases in some states such as Maharashtra, where such refunds are being granted.
