Purchasing Property for Mom Dad but after them it should be me
21-Aug-2024 (In Property Law)
A simple query, We are two brothers. Just to provide a safety blanket to my Mom Dad. I want to purchase a property for me. The motto is that till my Mom Dad are there they have full right on this property. Neither I or my wife can remove them. But the property should not go to my brother after them. My parents also echo this sentiment. Property will be purchased by me.
A parent can give the right of succession of the property to one of his children through the way of WILL which is called testamentry succession so if your parents are together in this decision to keep your brother from having any right to the property then executing a will with the prescribed guidelines and witness would be beneficial if you don’t want your brother to take the property. The catch in this is that the property must be self-acquired so if the property is bought by you then keep it in your name only or else you will be liable to give some proportion to your brother depending on the religion and laws
