Property transfer of flat, society dispute

15-Nov-2023 (In Property Law)
Hi, I am Hindu. My grandmother expired few years ago. She owned a mahada tenement. Post her death the property was not transferred by society to her only child and my father due to certain disputes with the society. Recently my father expired. My grandmother had made a will which was probated. My mother and me are the sole and only legal heirs to the property. We have provided all documents to the society for transfer of flat to my mum including the probate, however the society is now insisting that we publish a notice in newspaper notifying people at large that our flat in question is about to be transferred to my mum and if there are any objections the same is invited by the society. Since the will is probated and granted by court of law which had published the citation before granting the will, this demand from society sounds nothing but ridiculous and sheer gimmick to harass us. Please advice.

This is my response to you: 1. You are absolutely right; 2. You have all the ownership of the property; 3. You must let a lawyer speak on your behalf and not blindly accept their terms and conditions; 4. Consult a local lawyer and take steps.
