Property claim for grand children

28-Feb-2023 (In Property Law)
My hindu maternal grand father died way back in 1946 leaving behind self attained properties in Kolkata and without any will. He was survived by 2 sons and 2 daughters. One of the daughters, my mother, also died in 2008. Can we claim our mother's right of share in my maternal grandfather's property.

yes you can claim your mother share in the maternal property , but before claiming few things needs to be known whether they property is already partioned and how many members are still alive and how many legal heirs are still there.

yes you can claim the maternal grandfather's property according to hindu law when he had not done any will or gift deed. According to honest law daughter can claim the share of property after death of her father. and in absence of his daughter, her legal heir can claim that property.
