28-Apr-2023 (In Property Law)
We had some property which was acquired by HUDA in 1992. We haven't received any compensation for the same till date. What action can we take in this situation?

You must immediately file a writ of madamus in the High Court asking for directions to the state body to release compensation. But you must do the background check on the acquisitions of the time your land was acquired because it is unlikely that even after 25 years of acquisition not a single penny has been paid to you as compensation. You must first make sure if your claim with HUDA with respect to compensation for acquisition was filed and also check from their office and get all information along with any court cases pending with respect to the acquisition under which your land was acquired before taking any legal steps.

The case for compensation can be filed but only after looking at all the documents and correspondence between the client and HUDA and any steps taken by them. It can only be decided after meeting and looking at all the papers as required under law and also look into the fact if limitation has not expired for filing the suit.
