Possible to cancel a land deal
28-Mar-2025 (In Property Law)
Hello,
We recently sold out land. We were quoted 16l and we did the deal but after one month our uncle sold land adjacent to use in 32 l .
We are feeling cheated, is there something we can do?
We confronted buyer and he said you get entangled in legal battles and will have to face enquiry as you took money in black.
So we are confused. Do we have a chance in court of law?
You can file a suit for cancellation of the sale if you can prove fraud. If you were forced to accept money in black, you may approach the tax authorities to report the issue. Additionally, you can try to renegotiate with the buyer for a fair settlement. It is also advisable to check for any legal flaws in the sale deed, as a technical defect might help you challenge the transaction.
