If the payment was deducted from your account but not received by the beneficiary, it constitutes a transactional failure and service deficiency under the RBI Digital Payment Guidelines and Consumer Protection Act, 2019. You should first raise a written complaint through the app’s support section and obtain a Transaction Reference ID. The refund generally takes 3–5 working days as per RBI timelines. If the issue remains unresolved, immediately escalate the matter by filing a written grievance with your bank’s Nodal Officer, and also register a complaint with the RBI Digital Payment Helpline (14440) or NPCI grievance cell. Preserve screenshots, emails, and proof of deduction for legal reference.
