Owner of resale fat claiming to take safety door what are his rights

28-Nov-2023 (In Property Law)
We have taken a flat on resale and the house owner just handed over one key set to us. Now he is claiming he would be taking his safety door but the same is not mentioned in the agreement. Please suggest if he can claim such things once he has already handed over the keys to us.

absolutely not..

he can not take the safety door with him if the same is not agreed upon by you when the terms were decided.

you can refuse to allow him to take the safety door as you are already handed over the keys of the flat.

Once the possession is handed over, the property is in your care and custody not as an agent of the seller, but in your own right as its owner(assuming the sale is complete and the interest in the property has passed on to you).
Possession 9/10th of law and therefore you have every right to stop the owner from removing/detaching the safety door which is also part of a composite sale unless it is specifically mentioned that the safety door does not form part of the sale.
I hope i make myself clear
