Old mother denied stay by younger son in ancestral property what to do
13-Jun-2023 (In Property Law)
My father is the 3rd of 10 children of my widowed grandmother. He is the one inspite having an elder brother who single handedly married of all his siblings including his elder brother. Now there is already a property dispute in court since couple of years. My grandma used to stay in all of her children's home according to their need but mainly at our ancestral home where the youngest brother now stays. Now he refuses to keep him, so does the eldest brother and sisters. The sisters went to police, complaining that their mother should be staying in the sons places and not in thier. What are the legal side to it. We are a hindu family
Taking care of the senior citizen is the joint responsibility of all the children, grandchildren included; this responsibility could be enforced through a competent authority. Other than this, no legal elements are inherent. All the rest are ethical considerations, for which Law or its procedure can suggest no remedy.
