19-Feb-2023 (In Property Law)
my grand mother is of 70 years . she had sold her residential house in 2017 and last week she received a notice u/s 274 r/w. s. 271D of IT Act asking her to pay a penalty of 4,22,500 rs. As per the information given in the notice, "you have received Rs. 4,22,500 /- in cash as part of sale consideration. This cash receipt is in contravention of the provisions of section 269SS of Income Tax Act, 1961." after logging in the e-Proceedings Portal we found out that there has been 3 more notices since October 2019 in this regard which we did not received and had no knowledge. now what can we do to come out of this problem . we have noidea why we are being penalised for this amount. please advice.

You have to file a written reply to the notice you have received from the IT department. And you need to include that you haven’t received any of the notices as mentioned. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.
