Where is the property located?
do you have the property papers which state that the property was in your grand father/ father name?
has the mutation done in your name?
Please feel free to contact in case of any clarification.
Also ensure that you obtain a new khatauni of your land atleast once a year as it details all the changes that have been recorded in the government records with respect to your land.
Many a times we are able to spot some wrong changes done in our land records and get them corrected. Whereas if you get the khatauni after 10-15 years and say that this detail is wrong then the government officials will say where were you for the past 10 years and will refuse to make the corrections. Then you would be required to file a case for its correction.
