Neighbor has prepared forged documents of my property, what to do?

my grand parents lived in a place near udupi since 70 years .they just paid tax for the house in my grandpas name . we have built new house without worrying about records .now it has come to a situation where my grandpas far relative saying that proprty belongs to his mother nd he wants us to settle some money and take it ..when we took out R.T.C its in someone elses name who has property adjacent to ours . now how do we procede on this we contacted lawyer he took money from us n went on to other party side we are shattered now dont know how to procede kindly help me sir ..thank u

1. You may file a case for cheating and forgery against your neighbour. The land records could not have been tampered with except with the active connivance of some concerned officials.

2. Apart from filing the criminal case also file a civil case for challenging the forged entries in the revenue records.

sir, Firstly, collect the documents from the date of acquire the land from your ancestors without leaving gap of the year. find the names how transfer from a person to person and find where your family person name is missed and learn how other person name bought on record. If there is no title has been transferred from any angle by your ancestors or other family members, then you can file a revenue appeal as per Tamil nadu revenue act. and also has to file suit for title.
