Mother wants to sell the house but son not giving property papers

85 year old widow wants to sell her property which is in her name. but one of her sons has the possession of the property documents and is not willing to hand them over. leaving the old lady helpless. please advice what action can be taken?

Since it is a family dispute I would strongly recommend interference by other family members or some trusted third person to mediate. If it fails one can look at taking criminal action against the person. A criminal complaint could be filed under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for criminal breach of trust, etc.
