Hi
Any woman can claim a share of her father and grand father's property.
In andhra pradesh , When N.T.Rama Rao was the chief minister, he had amended the Hindu succession act granting equal powers to daughters so as to claim a share in the properties of their father/grand father.
the act came in to force in the year 1986. Subsequently many states enacted similar laws and finally government of india enacted similar law in 2005.
If you want to claim a share of property of your father/ grand father, you should first issue legal notices to all of the legal heirs and then follow up with a suit for partition in courts of law
