Loss of the parent document of our residential flat

We have misplaced the parent document(sale deed) of our flat in Chennai.Copy of the document which is signed and attested is found but not the original.Kindlt advise us what to do.
First you must lodge a police complaint regarding the loss of document. After getting the report from Police you have to give a paper publication. Then based on this you can get a duplicate from the Registrar's office.

Kindly issue a police complaint that the originals are lost. Do it at the earliest to ensure that it is not misused in the future by any person and apply for certified copy from the concerned Sub Registrar office.
