Legal rights on land if mutation is not done

29-Sep-2023 (In Property Law)
We had bought 42 cents of land 15 back in 2007. But we did not get the mutation process done after registration because of ignorance. Now the previous owner is claiming the ownership of property because 1B and passbook are still on his name. Does he still have any ownership rights because 1B is on his name? And please advise if we can go for mutation process now?

As you say that in the year 2007 you have purchased the land to the extent of 42cents ,and got it registered ,due to the lack of knowledge mutation proceedings are not taken place .now you can approach the concerned revenue authorities for mutation under Dharani and get your name mutated.
