Leave and License agreement extension

28-Feb-2023 (In Property Law)
We have a tenant on Leave and License whose agreement expires by end of March. We are currently out of Mumbai and will be back after about 3 months. Is there a problem if the tenant stays for 2-3 months without any new agreement ?

After completion of period you do not have legal right to stay there. But you can orally request to your Landlord for extension of further period. If your landlord allows for further extension then there is no problem. If not you must have vacate that property.

Hello,
First of all if you think the Tenant is genuine you can ofcourse take the risk and do the new registration once you come back but before that you should take permission from the society, if the society is not having a problem with the same i.e. allowing your tenant to stay without the valid leave and license agreement you can postpone the registration once all the parties are available.
