My brother is the owner of the flat .In 2007 he made an affidavit to include my name jointly in the share certificate and also stated that 50% shares to be given to me and submitted to the society. Society in their MC meeting added my name in the share certificate jointly with my brother . In the same time, i also was admitted as associate member in 2007 by filing associate membership form. Society issued a letter that i am joint owner and admitted as associate.member. is it right? .No deed done

you cannot be a joint owner on the basis of affidavit, there ought to have been gift deed or release deed executed in your favor. since your brother has requested court to add you as associate member you can exercise your right as associate member to participate in society
