Is the second wife has the right to divide the property

Grand Father has two wives first wife -My Monther and her brother - 1st Wife passed away Second wife alive and have 2 childerns. Grand Father passed away 5 years ago Mother married in 1983 her brother not allowing to divide the property and telling she is not having rights Can we ask them to divide the property and register to individuals? or my mother don't have rights since she married in 1983
First of all whether the property you are talking about is your grandfather`s self acquired property or his ancestral property ? Secondly. you say you are asking your brother to divide property, which means it is in his name.
