Is it mandatory to get NOC from the lawyer if we want to change the lawyer after the case is admitted (or case admission is pending) at NCDRC?

There is no such provision that you need to take Noc before assigning the work to any other lawyer but although Lawyers do not have lien over the case files but you must clear the entire professional charges and dues before doing so.you can do it validly without any hindrances or obstacles . You just convey the message that's sufficient for this purpose and nothing more is required. B.

Dear Querist, technically a NOC is required in such cases. However, if your previous lawyer is not appearing in Court regularly or is not reachable, you may submit the same through your counsel to the Court and the appearance of the newly engaged lawyer would be reflected on the order sheet. Thereafter, you may approach the registry and file the vakalthnama with them to be placed on record. If the registry asks for a NOC, you may show them the order sheet and explain the situation to them. I have found this to work in my personal experience. Please feel free to get in touch if you require any further clarifications. Best Regards, Dhruv Banerji.
