Is an agreement sufficient for buying a plot

I want to purchase a land which is belong to a general category person.But the problem starts now when the road connecting the plot from the main road is on st plot.Those st people are agree for an agreement stating they will give their land for private use as road. Please suggest me weather an agreement is sufficient. Regards Srikant gouda Sambalpur,odisha

Sir, with regards to ST land (not in general), neither agreement, nor permission form the concerned authority to sell the land is valid or legal. Today they can take permission to sell, but tomorrow they can claim for their land and you will stand still as a spectator. So purchase it through a ST person of your confidence, who will not betray you.

No agreement is not sufficient for buying a plot. 1st you have decided what plot you have give your name then u proceed on basis of sale deed .after registree u can make patta in your name.Never buying a plot on the basis of agreement.
