Irrigation Dept diverted normal course of River my land getting eroded

Irrigation department has diverted normal course of of river for irrigation purposes to near by villages, my land gets eroded as no r/wall has has been constructed for protection of banks 1.5 kanal of land has wiped due to hitting of land as such i wand compensation of for such losses . How should I proceed
First u have to send a representation and legal notice to concerned department forbthe release of money after that U can file a case before assistant commissioner land records ...and get the remedy....
