How to remove brother's name as co owner in a property

purchased house property in mumbai by my funds but included my brothers name as 2nd owner. Now brother wants remove his name without compensation so I will become sole owner. how to do it cost effectively and fast and legally to avoid his heirs claiming in future.

In my opinion the best way will be to enter into and register a deed of relinquishment or release deed. However this will entails stamp duty and Registration charges depending on the state in which you live.

Hello,
So there are two ways to do this I will explain you both the procedure and then you can decide which is best for you:
1) you can execute sale deed and transfer the shares in that property.
2) you can execute gift deed and transfer the shares in the property.
I personally feel the second option is cost effective and I would love you further if I m given a chance to review your documents.
