How to obtain property though legal heir certificate

I tried a legal heir certificate for my grand father through taluk office. They refuse and also advice to approach through court. What can I do sir please guide me
Sir/Madam,
If your attempt in getting the legal heir certificate is valid as per law, you can very well sent a representation to the authority concerned e.g. Taluk Officer and mark copy of the same to his next higher officers through R.P.A.D., if you get any written order for the same you can challenge the same through writ or for the representation given you can prefer a writ of mandamus for obtaining the said certificate.

You will have to file an application before the competent civil court for grant of succession certificate. The process should not take more than a few months if there is no objection. Seek the advice of a lawyer who practices in civil court in the jurisdiction of the property.
