How to get share of property from great grand parents property

17-Apr-2023 (In Property Law)
There was some real state property on the name of my greatgrandfather. after his death there was no will for distribution of ptoperty. Now my father wants his share from all that property but other family members are not interested. Is there any rule for this kind of situtation which can be used to get my father share.

Dear Client,
there is a rule in Maharashtra under sec 85 of Maharashtra Land Revenue Code1966, where in any co sharer can effectuate a partition of the property by making an application to the Collector, who shall call the parties concerned and hear them out and upon such hearing an order for partition can be made, if such partition cannot be effective made then the property can be sold and the proceeds can be distributed in equal portion.
