how to get equal share in ancestor property

22-Nov-2023 (In Property Law)
We got a property in Chennai registered in my late grandmother's name. She died in 2010. She has 5 sons and one daughter. Two of her sons died without getting married. One more son died in 2020 and he has four sons. I am the elder daughter of my late grandmother's daughter. Now only two sons are alive. They are planning to see the undivided property. They are hiding everything from us and planning to cheat us the share of our property. I have heard that they are not going to give us any shares from the property. Kindly advice on how to get my share while selling the property.

In this case, just cause a partition legal notice to every legal heir about your family property. I have a vast practice in that area you can seek my assistance in your matter.

If the ancestral property was already partitioned in some way others will not be entitled to share. Otherwise all legal heirs are entitled to share in the ancestral property. You can file a suit for partition to divide the ancestral property and the court will decide accordingly.
