Proprty received by gift is not self acquired Proprty. Self acquired is that which has been paid by the present title holder of the Proprty. Nominees and gift recipient do not pay any money. So it is not self acquired Proprty.

If property originally acquired by your grandfather then gifted property will be self acquired property for your mother and grandmother.
If not then as anybody of second line of heirs can claim that property.
